Life Love Lens : April {Rochester, Michigan. Child Photographer}

One of the goals I set for myself this year was to work on more personal photography projects.  I've tried before, but life gets so busy sometimes...and those personal projects tend to get pushed to the back burner.  Or sometimes, I'm just too lazy to get my camera out.  It happens.  Well, there's something about Springtime....for some reason, this season gives me the extra motivation and determination to tackle new projects.  So, I decided to join a blog circle.

What exactly is a blog circle, you may ask?  It's a group of photographers who shoot and share recent work on a regular basis (ours will be monthly).  We each link to each others' blog to create a "circle."  If you view each of our blogs, eventually you will end up right back where you started!

This blog circle includes quite a talented bunch of ladies, so I'm very excited to be a part of this group and to see all of the wonderful work that will be shared here.  This is going to be great motivation for me to shoot more personal work, and I'm also hoping it allows me to get more creative with my photography.

We named our little blog circle "Life Love Lens" in hopes that we can capture everyday life and what we love about it.  For the first installment, I decided to share some photos from our recent vacation in beautiful Puerto Vallarta.  As you will see below, this vacation basically turned into a two-week long portrait session for Violet.  :)

When you are done checking out my images, please be sure to click on over to the very talented Rachel Coney's blog to see what she is sharing this month!

This was our first full day in PV.  Ah, the first day of vacation...don't you just love that feeling??  After the winter we had, it sure felt good to shed a few layers of clothing and soak up some humidity.  Violet kept saying, "it's summer every day in Mexico!"

Oh, the photographer's child.  Day one of vacation/picture-taking and she's already giving me "that look."

Suprisingly, my party-animal-night-owl child fell asleep at dinner on more than one occasion.  I think it's a good sign that she was having lots and lots of fun.  That's my mom in the sombrero and my dad with the giant margarita.

Pool time!  I could not get this girl out of the pool.  Pruney fingers and toes... all day, every day!

My girl loves to shop (and so does Nana!).  Violet discovered these tiny bobblehead critters, and she became obsessed with them!  Let's just say she ended up with a pretty extensive collection.  Luckily, they only cost a dollar or two each and did not take up much room in the luggage!

She's got the moves like Jagger.

Riding the bus is always an adventure!  Violet chose her own seat next to this nice lady.  I discovered on this vacation that my child is definitely not shy!

And a Mexican vacation would not be complete without some beach shots...
